Have your say on the new draft Flying Fox Management Policy and Plan in the Whitsunday region!

Flying Foxes are very important to the Whitsunday region’s ecosystem, and keep native forests healthy and pollinated.

While a native Australian mammal protected under State Government legislation, flying foxes can sometimes cause major problems for residents when a large roost is established in a built up area.

The draft Policy and Plan looks at the locations in the Whitsundays where flying foxes tend to roost, and identifies what activities Council can undertake to manage large colonies of flying fox.

Have your say!

View the draft Policy and Plan here or under 'Document Library' on this page, and complete the survey by 5pm Friday 3 November 2017.
