Help us design a new mural for the Bowen Water Reservoir

Thank your for your interest and participation! Consultation has now concluded.

Bowen Tourism and Business, together with Whitsunday Regional Council, is asking residents to have their say on a new mural to replace 'Bowenwood' on the Bowen water reservoir.

The new mural will be designed to attract visitors from the highway into Bowen, to explore the beautiful beaches and historical buildings.

Council and Bowen Tourism are looking for ideas and suggestions from the community for the design of the mural, which will be painted by well-known mural artists Phantast Cultural Music and Arts Association.

Phantast prides itself on inviting the community to be involved and participate in the both the design and painting of the mural.

This project has been made possible with a Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grant to Bowen Tourism and Business. The RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Whitsunday Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

Have your say!

Residents can submit their ideas for the mural online or in person at Council customer service counters across the region and at the Bowen Visitor Information Centre.

Submissions will be accepted until 5pm, Wednesday 6 September.

WRC and Bowen Tourism representatives will also be available on Sunday 27 August at the Hansen Park Markets to answer questions and take submissions in person.

Suggestions for the water reservoir murals can be written or drawn. Submit your ideas at the tab below.
