Main Street Crossings Survey

Whitsunday Regional Council have jumped into action to update and refresh the Airlie Beach Main Street in preparation for our busy September school holidays. Part of our approach is to consider implementing more pedestrian priority in the Main Street, following our historic survey completed in October 2022. In this survey, we requested participants provide sentiment on the scale of pedestrian priority to open discussion on the project. From that direction, we now want to seek your feedback on exactly what we should trial.

Help us by completing the survey below to tell us the type of user you are, how many zebra crossings we should trial and where. Subject to consultation results, we will seek to commence the trial in October for approximately 6 months. Check out our fact sheet for key design components to be considered that may reduce Main Street traffic to create a more pedestrian friendly culture and ensure safety of all users.
