Whitsunday Regional Council received $5 million from the Queensland Government to make Bowen an even more attractive town for both domestic and international travellers.

The 'Beautiful Bowen' project included new feature entry statements at the northern and southern approaches of the Bruce Highway, extensive landscaping, new wayfinding signs and upgraded roundabouts.

The Beautiful Bowen upgrade was completed ahead of schedule and reopened to the public on 9 December 2019, in time for the Christmas trading period.

With new landscaping and gardens, irrigation, signs and new entry statements on the Bruce Highway, the $5 million upgrade will give domestic and international visitors even more reason to visit Beautiful Bowen.

Council would like to thank the businesses in Bowen’s CBD for their patience and understanding throughout these works.
