In February 2021, we asked for your feedback on Whitsunday Regional Council's services and facilities across the region. The first survey of its kind for WRC, we engaged independent company IRIS Research to conduct phone surveys over a two-week period. An online survey was also available for those residents who wanted to participate. We asked for your satisfaction and priorities in relation to our services and facilities, and your ideas for future improvements.

What you told us

IRIS Research completed 400 phone calls and collected 791 survey responses overall. They completed a report which independently analysed the findings, and presented this to Council. Some of the key results include:

  • 59% are satisfied with Council services and facilities
  • 28% provided a neutral rating
  • 13% are dissatisfied with Council services and facilities
  • The results combined for a medium average satisfaction score of 3.53 out of 5
  • Our Libraries and Library Services were the highest rated at 4.18 out of 5
  • Our top priorities for the future should be:
    • Tourism and promotion of the area
    • Investment in local business and employment
    • Road maintenance and parking facilities

What we will do with your feedback

The results from the survey will be used to inform a number of important documents which guide Council's decision-making, including our annual operational plans and budgets. The survey results will be used alongside other data to identify ways we can continue to improve and meet the community's expectations.
