The Whitsunday Region is renowned for its natural beauty, from the Great Barrier Reef and tropical islands to our beaches, waterways, wetlands, forests and productive farmland. These natural assets support our lifestyle, local economy and the industries that make our region unique.

Whitsunday Regional Council is developing a new Whitsunday Environment Strategy to guide how we protect, enhance and manage our natural environment over the coming years.

The Strategy will identify the environmental priorities that matter most to our community and establish a clear direction for Council's environmental programs, partnerships and future investment. It will also help Council respond to emerging challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, invasive species, waste, water quality and population growth.

Before finalising the Strategy, we're inviting the community to help shape its future.

Your feedback will help ensure the Strategy reflects local values, priorities and aspirations while balancing environmental protection with the needs of our growing region.
