Consultation has concluded

Whitsunday Regional Council recently sought feedback from residents on draft Bushfire Plans for a number of areas in the southern Whitsunday region.

Consultation has now closed and a report will be prepared for Council. Consultation was open for two months, between Monday 14 September and Sunday 15 November 2020.

Developing a community Bushfire Plan is a very important tool to help prepare residents for bushfire season.


The local Plans are an action of the overarching Whitsunday Regional Bushfire Management Plan, and will be developed for the following areas:

  • Conway Beach - Wilsons Beach
  • Dittmer - Paul's Pocket
  • Mango Tree Estate - Greta Creek
  • Shute Harbour
  • Woodwark

The draft Plans for these areas have been reviewed by the Queensland Fire & Emergency Service (QFES).
