Consultation has concluded
Whitsunday Regional Council will be replacing a section of the existing sewer pipeline near Summit Avenue and Mazlin Street in Airlie Beach.
The works will involve drilling into the hill to replace a section of pipeline, to improve the performance of the sewer system and reduce ongoing maintenance costs to the community.
The works will begin mid June and is expected to be completed by mid September 2017, weather and construction delays permitting.

Construction Information
The works will take place between 6.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
Vehicle and pedestrian access to Summit Avenue will remain open throughout the project.
Local residents will notice the following impacts:
Noise from boring machinery on-site
Minor vibration caused by machinery, and
Traffic disruption at times, with trucks turning into the site from Shute Harbour Road.
Signage will be in place around the work site and on Shute Harbour Road to advise motorists and residents. These works are being completed by GCE Contractors Pty Ltd on behalf of Whitsunday Regional Council.
