Proserpine Park Upgrades

Consultation has concluded

Latest News

The upgrade of Pioneer Park and Keith Johns Park is currently planned for construction in early 2019, and more information will be announced shortly.

Pioneer Park will receive a new climbing net playground (to replace the existing play equipment), a track ride with tower, mouse wheel and swing set, including a bird's nest swing for all abilities.

Keith Johns Park will receive a small unisex toilet block, and tower play equipment.

Background

Whitsunday Regional Council has allocated money to upgrade parks in Proserpine under the Queensland Government's Works for Queensland program.

In late 2017, we asked you to tell us how you use your local parks, and what types of improvements are needed to play equipment and park facilities. Your ideas and preferences have been considered during the planning for the upgrade of Pioneer Park and Keith Johns Park.

During the consultation period, residents could complete the short survey below online, or in person at the Proserpine Customer Service Centre or Proserpine Library.

Participants could also vote on their preferred pieces of play equipment and shade sails, and these preferences have been incorporated into the planning.
