Whitsunday Multicultural Festival 2024! Expression of Interest

Whitsunday Regional Council are seeking Expressions of Interest for local community groups to apply to be involved in the Whitsunday Multicultural Festival at the Bowen Foreshore, on Saturday 23 March 2024, from 5pm - 8pm.

Did you know that our community is made up of over 83 different ancestries with over 6,000 residents born overseas?

We are looking for community and cultural groups to participate in this event to showcase and celebrate the diversity of the Whitsundays through traditional dance, cooking, art and activities. See our fact sheet for more information on event themes.

If you are interested in showcasing your culture as a stall holder, vendor, educator, workshop facilitator, artist, musician or dancer, lodge your expression of interest to participate through the link below.

Event time: Saturday 23 March, 5pm - 8pm

Closing date for applications: Sunday 11 February, 2024

• Jumping castle
• Tastes of the world food stalls - seeking nominations below!
• Traditional dancers and musicians - seeking nominations below!
• Cultural dress parade - seeking nominations below!
• Storytime - seeking nominations below!
• Multi-cultural art workshops - seeking nominations below!

General Information:

• This form is an Expression of Interest ONLY, there is no guarantee your submission will be accepted.
• Sites will be FREE however they will be strictly limited.
• You are required to provide your own power and public liability insurance of up to $20M
• Food vendors will be required to provide proof of current food licence.
• No alcohol is permitted to be sold or consumed.
• In the event of bad weather, the event will be cancelled.
