Thank you for your interest. Consultation has concluded.
Works have been completed at Wildlife Park, with the new 12-bay car park along Jubilee Pocket Road and new park facilities installed in 2019.
Whitsunday Regional Council sought community input into further upgrades at the Wildlife Road Park in May 2018, and the ideas received have been incorporated into the planning.
These upgrades have been funded under the Queensland Government's Works for Queensland program.
Consultation
Council is pleased to announce the results from the consultation period show widespread support for some key features of the proposed upgrade, including the toilet block, car parking and extra play equipment.
During the consultation there were major concerns expressed by local residents regarding the proposed skate facility, and in recognition of the issues raised, Council will no longer be including a skate facility in the upgrade.
The upgrade will include:
Small toilet block (locked at night)
12 new carparks along Jubilee Pocket Road
A new shelter and BBQ
Extra play equipment including a flying fox and mouse wheel, and
New footpaths and lighting to connect the existing footpaths.
If you have any queries, please contact Council on the following details:
