Come n try something new! Get out, Get moving and Get social!

We are hosting our first 'Come n Try' event in Bowen on Sunday 21 April 2024, 10am - 1pm, to encourage all ages to get outdoors and try new activities that boost social interaction and exercise. The Come n Try event is designed to alleviate social issues, such as isolation, loneliness or poor physical/mental health - by providing a fun easy way to try out a new activity with others!

The event will include entertainment, workshops, fitness activities, games, food and information stalls from local organisations that support mental and physical health. To support the event, we are calling for local clubs, health, fitness, wellbeing, entertainment and food vendors to participate! To promote the Come n Try theme, we need fitness providers or sports clubs to showcase bootcamps, yoga, sporting skills, or meditation offerings for people to try out.

If you are interested in hosting a stall, food vendor or sporting/fitness workshop, the event is a great opportunity to grow awareness of your business or sporting club to attract more participants in the future and help our community to build new social connections. General Information:

  • This form is an Expression of Interest ONLY, there is no guarantee your submission will be accepted.
  • Sites will be FREE however they will be strictly limited.
  • You are required to provide your own power and public liability insurance of up to $20M.
  • Food vendors will be required to provide proof of current food licence.
  • No alcohol is permitted to be sold or consumed.
  • In the event of bad weather, the event will be cancelled.
