Whitsunday Regional Council is developing the Heart of our Identity: Arts, Culture & Heritage Plan 2023 - 2028!

Community feedback, visions and ideas have been gathered through a series of community brainstorming sessions and surveys to inform the Plan that aims to achieve the following objectives:

1. Create vibrant spaces
2. Celebrate identity
3. Connect and collaborate
4. Grow local talent
5. Create and participate
6. Promote experience and encounters

We thank everybody for their contributions and have summarised all feedback from consultation into the Arts Culture and Heritage Plan - Discussion Paper. Please take the time to review the Discussion Paper and notify us of any further points or clarifications before Sunday, 19 February. Once consultation outcomes within this Discussion Paper are confirmed with the community, we will develop the final Heart of our Identity: Arts Culture and Heritage Plan.

RASN CQU ( Regional Arts Service Network, Central Queensland University) has been awarded a contract to undertake community consultation and professional development to inform the development of the Plan. Participation in all consultations, focus groups and surveys are voluntary. This research project will not affect your employment, academic standing or association with the University or Whitsunday Regional Council. Survey responses will be de-identified and your responses stored with a code that only key members of the project team can access. Focus group participants will be given the opportunity to remain de-identified or be named in the publication of these results. We note that the size of the sector and the uniqueness of arts projects may possibly make responses re-identifiable. We will take care to ensure no identifying information is included if requested. Data will be securely stored for a minimum of fifteen years after the conclusion of the project, in accordance with the CQUniversity Code of Conduct for Research.
