Proserpine Basketball Court - Les Stagg Oval or Halpannel Park

We asked for feedback on the preferred location of a Proserpine Basketball Court. Currently, Les Stagg Oval has a half-court basketball court that has fallen into disrepair and Council has budget to either repair it or re-build a new full court in Halpannel Park (Hansen Drive).

Feedback identified the majority of respondents were in support of a new full court being constructed in Halpannel Park. Other feedback included ensuring the new court is shaded, well lit and concrete, to allow multi-use by roller bladers. Submitters also suggested that Les Stagg half-court is formalised into a car park to support neighbouring Bluecare nurses and Les Stagg Oval events.

Council have resolved to construct the Proserpine Basketball Court in Halpannel Park at a recent Council meeting and are presently seeking grant funding for its construction.
