Thank you for your interest. This consultation has concluded.

Bushfires are a natural part of the Australian landscape and have the potential to cause serious social, economic and environmental damage, if not managed correctly.

Did you know…All landholders are responsible for managing bushfire hazard on their properties.

Whitsunday Regional Council is one of the largest landholders in the region with over 36 000 hectares, including the responsibility for managing and maintaining all road reserves.

Council has developed a Bushfire Management Policy and Plan to ensure bushfire hazard is properly managed on public land.

The proposed Bushfire Policy and Management Plan aims to outline how bushfire hazard will be managed and set goals for bushfire management activities being conducted in a planned, safe and effective manner.
