Consultation has concluded


Whitsunday Regional Council has prepared the Airlie Beach Foreshore Land Management Plan (LMP) for the purpose of having a transparent document governing the management of existing and future uses over State Reserves within the Airlie Beach Foreshore for which Council is Trustee. The Plan will provide guidance to Council, clarity for the community and demonstrate to the Department of Natural Resources and Mines how Council will continue to manage the Airlie Beach Foreshore Reserves in accordance with its primary purpose designated by the State.

The draft LMP can also be viewed in person at the Bowen, Cannonvale, Collinsville or Proserpine Customer Service Centres.

Council are seeking comment on the Plan from 23 July 2018 - 4 September 2018 to:

  • Identify key issues facing the management of Airlie Beach Foreshore Reserves;
  • Determine opportunities for overcoming key issues identified by the community;
  • Determine the communities’ priorities for ongoing operation and use of the Airlie Beach Foreshore; and
  • Identify measures for improving the recreational use of the Airlie Beach Foreshore Reserves.

For a properly made submission - please include your name, address, email address and ensure your submission is sent to Council by 5pm, 4 September 2018.
