We asked for feedback on pedestrian movement in the Airlie Beach Main Street to inform future decision making about pedestrian vs vehicle priority.

Feedback identified that the majority of persons are satisfied with current crossings, where pedestrians give way to traffic. However, when queried on an appropriate balance, 58% supported a shift toward some pedestrian priority. This indicates that vehicle movement is a priority for the community, but pedestrian crossings could be considered where impacts to traffic flow are managed.

The feedback will be presented to the Council at an upcoming meeting early in the new year. Council will consider the community feedback and determine next steps in the investigation.

Please see the Consultation Summary below, which outlines some of the key results and top suggestions from the community.

Hi,
When is the repair of the failed water pipe out front of Shoebiz in SHR going to be repaired? It has been bunted off, blocking pedestrian access and looking really messy for over 4 weeks now.
