Collinsville Community Hub

Project Update 30 July 2025
We are thrilled to share an update on the $16 million Collinsville Community Hub and future Showgrounds Masterplan.
Thanks to extensive community feedback earlier this year, we’ve been working closely with key local stakeholders to fine-tune the design of the new community centre making sure it’s functional, welcoming, and tailored to Collinsville community needs.
We’re also developing a long-term Masterplan for the Showgrounds to guide future grant applications and budget priorities. This plan is expected to be shared with the community later this year, alongside updates about how construction of the Hub will be managed.
This project is proudly supported by $14.5 million funding from the Queensland Government through the Resources Community Infrastructure Fund (RCIF), with Council contributing $1.4 million.
Demolition of the existing centre is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with the new Hub expected to be completed in early 2027.
When the contract is awarded later this year more information will be shared about alternate venue access, construction timelines and what to expect during the build.
We can’t wait to bring this new space to life for the Collinsville community - check out our architectural renders of the hub (right).

Consultation complete!
We thank the community for providing their feedback about the Collinsville Community Hub, which will include a multi-purpose community centre and master planned showgrounds parkland.
The multi-purpose facility is proposed to consolidate the customer service centre, library, shape up shed, community hall, telecentre, meeting rooms, amenities and tourism information.
Please view our consultation summary or detailed consultation report. Key feedback included:
- The majority of respondents were supportive of the proposed multi-purpose community centre, particularly larger shape up shed, library, modernised hall and undercover outdoor space.
- People value recognising cultural heritage of the Community Centre's history, Birriah people, cattle yards and old jail.
- Within the Showgrounds parkland, respondents desired more shade trees, irrigation and concrete pathways.
- Play priorities were focused upon new sporting infrastructure and major playground, including focus on climbing, water and natural play.
Construction of the new Community Centre is anticipated to commence early 2026 and be completed early 2027.
