Collinsville Community Hub
We thank the community for providing their feedback about the Collinsville Community Hub, which will include a multi-purpose community centre and master planned showgrounds parkland.
The multi-purpose facility is proposed to consolidate the customer service centre, library, shape up shed, community hall, telecentre, meeting rooms, amenities and tourism information.
Please view our consultation summary or detailed consultation report. Key feedback included:
- The majority of respondents were supportive of the proposed multi-purpose community centre, particularly larger shape up shed, library, modernised hall and undercover outdoor space.
- People value recognising cultural heritage of the Community Centre's history, Birriah people, cattle yards and old jail.
- Within the Showgrounds parkland, respondents desired more shade trees, irrigation and concrete pathways.
- Play priorities were focused upon new sporting infrastructure and major playground, including focus on climbing, water and natural play.
The project team will consider the consultation report to develop the Collinsville Community Hub and Showgrounds Masterplan design. The draft building design will be presented to Council at an upcoming meeting for consideration before proceeding to detailed design of the facility.
Construction of the new Community Centre is anticipated to commence early 2026 and be completed early 2027.

We are excited about the development of a Collinsville Community Hub at the Showgrounds and we need your help!
We have been awarded $14.6M from the Queensland Government Resources Community Infrastructure Fund to create a consolidated community hub, including Library, Customer Service Centre, Shape-up Shed and Community Centre.
Alongside the hub, we are seeking feedback to masterplan the Showgrounds parkland, which will leverage the benefits of the community hub.
Consultation will be open until Sunday 9 February 2025.
