Open Space Survey

The purpose of this survey is to understand the existing capacity and expected growth of sporting facilities within the Whitsunday Region. Council will use the responses to this survey to guide future decision-making around securing land and developing sporting facilities that best meet the needs of the community over the next twenty years. We will be looking at this information in context with projected population growth, participation rates, competition spread and current standards for sporting facilities.

Please note: Council is particularly interested in the year to year trends and needs of Sports Parks and Sports Clubs and understand that these may have been significantly impacted by the on-going COVID-19 conditions. When undertaking the survey please provide answers based on pre-COVID-19 circumstances, as our network planning is unlikely to be affected by these conditions in the long-term.
