Whitsunday Regional Council is undertaking a review of its Weed Control program, Weed Washdown strategy and Feral Animal Control activities.
We recently sought landholder feedback on Council’s draft Weed Washdown strategy and Feral Animal Control program, to better understand any concerns or issues faced by landholders in the region and the level of satisfaction with Council's current control methods. This consultation is now closed and a report will be prepared for Council.

Campbell Creek is choked with weeds, especially Mimosa Trees which are spreading along the whole creek and residental gardens, via thousands of seed pods. They will also be washing out into Pioneer Bay and may end up on Whitsunday Coastlines and Islands. An environmental disaster in the making. A major removal programme, by mechanical means, is required, not just a poisoning effort that has been tried years ago and has not achieved any significant result. This needs to be a priority whilst most of it is still along the creek banks and is accessible. Thankyou.
