Harvest is a music development program designed to help shape the Whitsunday Regional Council Arts and Culture Plan and identify what programs/ support is needed in your local music sector.
The program will be launched with a Community Forum and individual 1 on 1 Consultation Sessions led by Brisbane based Music Industry leaders Stu Watters and Ant Mckenna in the first week of October. Feedback will also be gathered through an online survey, and opportunity for anyone interested to get in touch with the consultants directly via zoom or phone call.

- 1 hour Individual Consultations and Industry Advice sessions: October 6 and 7
If you’re a musician – What role could Council play in your career development, what is your vision for vibrant Regional live music Scene? What advice, guidance and mentoring would you appreciate? What workshop opportunities would you benefit from? (Think streaming services, technical specifications, music industry insights – anything you would like to learn more of, to help you grow in the performance industry)
If you program live music – How could Council help build a thriving live music and performance industry in your region? What professional development do you feel would be well suited to Whitsunday’s emerging and established performers? (Think business basics, marketing kits, putting on a great gig).
If you are involved in the business of music – What ideas do you have to build your capacity and increase work in the region?

RASN CQU ( Regional Arts Service Network, Central Queensland University) has been awarded a contract to undertake community consultation and professional development to inform the development of the Plan. Participation in all consultations, focus groups and surveys are voluntary. This research project will not affect your employment, academic standing or association with the University or Whitsunday Regional Council. Survey responses will be de-identified and your responses stored with a code that only key members of the project team can access. Focus group participants will be given the opportunity to remain de-identified or be named in the publication of these results. We note that the size of the sector and the uniqueness of arts projects may possibly make responses re-identifiable. We will take care to ensure no identifying information is included if requested. Data will be securely stored for a minimum of fifteen years after the conclusion of the project, in accordance with the CQUniversity Code of Conduct for Research.
