The Works for Queensland (W4Q) program is a Queensland Government initiative which aims to create local jobs and stimulate the local economy. Council has been successful in receiving funding under the last three rounds to upgrade park equipment and facilities, footpaths, shade structures, infrastructure upgrades and more.

The following funding amounts have been received to deliver projects across the Whitsunday region, and details about each project can be found in the table below:

  • Round 4 (2021-24) - $3.84 million
  • COVID (2020-21) - $2.72 million
  • Round 3 (2019-21) - $3.61 million
  • Round 2 (2017-19) - $4.07 million
  • Round 1 (2016-17) - $4.36 million

    Hi Jess, thanks for your query. 

    We are expecting works to begin within the next 6 months, pending approvals from the Queensland Government for the next round of Works for Queensland. Once we have further information we will update the community.
