Thank you for your interest. This consultation has now concluded and Plan has been adopted by Council.

Bushfires are a natural part of the Australian landscape and have the potential to cause serious social, economic and environmental damage, if not managed correctly.

Whitsunday Regional Council’s Natural Resource Management team is working with the Gloucester Rural Fire Brigade to update the bushfire management plan for the areas of Dingo Beach and Hydeaway Bay. This will be the first significant update to the Dingo Beach and Hydeaway Bay Bushfire Management Plan since 2007, and will outline how bushfire hazard will be managed on public land adjacent to residential areas.

At Whitsunday Regional Council, the bushfire management plan for Dingo Beach and Hydeaway Bay will be reviewed and updated in consultation with volunteers, community groups and the general public.
